Through an exploration of the relationships between sound, voice and images, the performances of Vincent Dupont play on the automatism of perception and provoke a particular focus of listening and watching. Incantus, a quintet for three dancers and two musicians, works on an incantatory subject matter, a type of charm, that calls the dancers to affirm their presence and free their movements. The light, closest to the body, is the foundation of the choreographic writing of Incantus; it makes the dancers appear ghostlike and gradually reveals the tension of their presence.
Every year, the National Centre of Contemporary Dance (CNDC) welcomes fifteen companies in-residence. For this project, Vincent Dupont benefited from a creative residency that permitted him to work for over a month in the studios and to present the première of this new performance in Angers.
