By the end of the 90’s, in a Golden Home, Marie and her son Pierre meet again after a long separation... Pierre left long ago to live in the US, was it to escape her, or to come to terms with his difference ? In the course of fierce dialogues, the duet turns into a duel.
As a young woman, Marie lapsed into ignominy during the German occupation in the WWI years, but later on, she climbed the social ladder into post office administration. The play focuses on this « iron woman » whose fate mirrors part of our French history. The play is set in Normandy, the childhood background of playwright Daniel Besnehard.
