Thomas Fersen, who weds ritornello to surrealist poetry, has created a wonderfully eccentric new album.
The title of his previous album - a "best of" accompanied by the ukulele - Gratte moi la puce was quintessentially "Fersenian". His new album, Trois petits tours (due out on 8 September) is once again eccentric - a term that fits this earthy troubadour like a glove.
With his six studio and two concert albums, Fersen has made his mark as a singer songwriter, and as an author as well (his first book Un poil dans la choucroute was published by Textuels in 2007). The winner of four golden discs, Fersen is a zen alchemist who rings changes on anomaly, such as when he puts fancy language into the mouths of his streetwise characters. A combination of the inveterately comic ("culture belongs to everyone"), the gently insolent, a teasing manner and infectious humor: that’s Fersen.
On this new tour, Fersen will be accompanied by Justin Allard and his acolytes Fred Fortin, Pierre Sangra and Christophe Cravero.
