EN LA PALMA DE LA SUERTE
MON. 18 FEB. | 7:00 PM | TUES. 19 FEB. | 3:00 and 7:00 PM
This original program is the fruit of an encounter between Denis Péan, singer, musician and creator of the group Lo’jo, and the Sélènes who defy gravity on a tight-rope or under the aerial frame of a circus stripped-down to its essential form.
To begin, Denis Péan sings solo on the stage with his Indian harmonium. The songs are pure, without artifice; the poetic acrobatics invoke the gods of wonder. The twists of certain everyday words almost ready to collide, the passage of baubles, the sap of the tangled trees of all childhoods.
Then he is joined by Laura and Olivier, accustomed to flying under the Big Top (le Cirque des Sélène, Romanès ...) from Stalingrad square to the ports of the Baltic Sea, for a fragile dance. Their breast to breast and hand to hand clasps leave, in the air, the silence of birds and the traces of their breathtaking slow motion.
It is the ageless perfume of a circus from nowhere coupled with borderless songs, on an evening under a full moon .
