About Le Quai
Le Quai is a place where new works are created, and where audiences of all stripes can rub elbows and experience a broad range of visual and performing arts events.
All of this artistic ferment is directed by the following three organizations that are based at Le Quai:
> Centre national de danse contemporaine (CNDC) ; Emmanuelle Huynh, director
> Nouveau Théâtre d’Angers (NTA) / Centre dramatique des Pays de la Loire; Frédéric Bélier-Garcia, director
> An Etablissement Public de Coopération Culturelle (EPCC), a public sector cultural alliance under the leadership of Christian Mousseau-Fernandez, who is general director of Théâtre Le Quai and is also in charge of musical, circus, visual arts and other programming.
Le Quai is also the venue for a portion of Angers Nantes Opera’s season, which is presented at Théâtre 900, a large theatre with an orchestra pit that accommodates more than 80 musicians.
Le Quai consists of the following spaces:
• The large Le Forum (lobby area)
• Théâtre 900, which has an orchestra section and two balconies
• Théâtre 400, which is completely modular and accommodates up to 400 spectators seated or up to 1000 standing.
Le Quai also has dedicated spaces for research, creation and training activities; a 450 square meter rehearsal stage; a large rehearsal room; and three dance studios.
