Quai d’Angers

A covered street ? A public theatre?
A gathering place ? A rehearsal stage? An art gallery?
A cabaret? An agora ?
Le Quai is all these things, depending on the day, the weather, your mood and the sources of the actors’ inspiration

A new series of events related to the productions at Le Quai’s theatres will be held this season in Le Forum (lobby area).
These events, for which admission is free, will be held in bimonthly cycles, in collaboration with our partners in Angers’ cultural and artistic community:
• Sorties de fabrique (open rehearsals/performances of works in progress) in collaboration with Centre National des Arts de la Rue/La Paperie
• Café-Forum events on the arts and sciences
• Café-Forum events on culture and the economy (sponsored by AnCRE)
• Musical events at Le Chabada: Afters, Émergences and Sorties de résidence
• Workshops

Mark these season-opening events on your calendar:
• 5 October: Impromptu, featuring the Ligue d’Improvisation d’Angers
• 15 October: Apéro-Jazz, featuring students from Angers’ conservatory of music, on the occasion of the concert by Kouyaté and Neerman
• 25 October: Café-Forum Art & Science. A lecture and roundtable discussion sponsored by Université d’Angers and Terre des Sciences, on the occasion of the Nuit des Chercheurs ("researchers night") event
• 29 October: A Centre National des Arts de la Rue/La Paperie open rehearsal of Une Cerise Noire by the La Française de Comptages theatre company. This street theatre work in progress will transform Le Forum (lobby area) into a mock movie set.

Throughout the season, ouvertures studios (performances of works in progress by artists in residence), roundtable discussions, lecture-discussions with actors, lecture discussions, and exhibitions will be held.

The bar in Le Forum (lobby area) (and in the courtyard, weather permitting) offers drinks and snacks before and after Le Quai performances.

Accessible from Le Forum (lobby area) and Le Parvis (courtyard), the rooftop terrace features a superb panoramic view of Angers and its old town, the Maine river, and Roi René castle.

Open 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11:30 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
