BY SUZANNE LEBEAU / DIRECTION CHRISTIAN DUCHANGE

A mother and her son live in their house deep in the woods. Today is a big day, the child, the little Ogrelet, will be separated from his mother for the first time: it’s the first day of school. A new experience in society which inspires a lot of questions. Why is he so much taller and stronger than the other children his age: who is he? What is this strange instinct that pushes him to adventure deeper into the woods?

Suzanne Lebreau’s fable, highlighted by the director, focuses our attention on the development of a child and the trials that he must undergo in trying to deal with a terrible legacy. A child walking a tight-rope, forced to combat his own instincts, supported by a loving mother who dispenses anguished advice, consumed by his thirst to devour the world. "Victor de l’Aveyron asked the classic question: Is ‘the wild child’ teachable ? L’Ogrelet questions the current state of the world: Does education prevent one from becoming savage ?"

Directed with humour, delicacy and a few shivers of fear, a magnificent tale about legacy, monstrosity, tolerance, and the darkness that sleeps in each of us. A new stop on the voyage with the director Christian Duchange whom we welcomed with Crasse-Tignasse (Dirty Mop) and Lettres d’amour de 0 à 10 (Letters of Love from 0 to 10).
